Shlomi Leizarov - “Dreaming of Hope” - Solo Exhibition, May June July 2026, Curator: Judith Gidali, Production: ICU
In this solo exhibition, to be presented for two months at the Knesset of Israel, the artist Shlomi Leizarov paints his longings, dreams, and impressions, documenting the challenging period we have all experienced since the COVID-19 pandemic and the Swords of Iron War.
Shlomi Leizarov was born in 1970 in Bat Yam. He currently lives in "Kfar Ofarim," founded by ALUT, and in his parents’ home in Ashdod, and works at the studio of artist Vladimir Paine. He has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad.
In this moving exhibition, Leizarov presents a rich selection of his work, much of it from recent years: dozens of inspiring oil paintings on canvas that express intense emotions ranging from joy to sorrow, from compassion to identification with those around him, born out of the immense personal challenge as a person living with autism.
His works may be associated with the genre of Outsider Art—art typically created outside the institutionalized art framework, expressing a distinctive and authentic visual language.
